Pumpkin Patch

We recently visited the pumpkin patch.  How fun.  Caroline is much more into things this year and has about a million things to tell you about it.  The kids are at such fun ages.  Sometimes I would like to keep them these ages forever.  And then, they start fighting and screaming and tattling on each other....

Anyways, here are some highlights of the visit.
petting a bunny

Caroline is so brave.  She jumped right in for feeding the sheep.

Caroline wanted her picture with "llama llama"

Jack wouldn't touch the donkey, but Caroline would have probably gotten in there with it if she could.

Ready for the hayride.

In search of the perfect pumpkin.

Love this picture.  Tommy trying to scare the kids...haha

Caroline found hers.

Jack wanted a green one.

Here's what I get when I ask Tommy to take some pictures.

Caroline sulking.  So sassy!

It's that time again...

I know, I know.  Everyone dreads fundraiser time.  The kids' school is doing the cookie dough/popcorn fundraiser again.  No pressure, but here are the salespeople...

And the out takes...

Take 1:  Can you tell I was having to prompt Caroline a bit?

Take 2:

So if you do want to order something, here is the ad online and you can see the choices.  Each one is $10.  We just have to have all money/orders in by Nov. 9.

September in Photos

Again, here's a photo update.  The pictures are probably what you want anyways!
Tommy decided this tree needs to come down.

His helpers though they could pull it down.

Such determination!

Team work!

Enjoying borrowing Popa's truck for a few days.

Daddy put them to work while I had parent/teacher conferences.  This was before they helped in the rain!

Happy Birthday Jack!  Big 5!

Birthday dinner at Chuck E Cheese

Thanks Daddy!

Monster truck birthday

Wow, so big!

August in Photos

Well, it's been a while since I posted new pictures.  I was waiting until I finally found the cord for our smaller camera.  It's easier to throw that little camera in my bag sometimes.  Unfortunately, it is not as friendly for loading pictures.  Anyways, here are some fun times from back in August.
At the Boone County fair.  Our friend KY Myle were playing and let Jack crash the stage!

Riding rides at the fair.

Caroline jumped on with no concerns

Waiting on the carousel

With Pam Kelly from KY Myle.

They found a massive grasshopper.

Jack got brave and held it.

Oh such a telling picture...look how mischievous he looks!

Big bubbles!

Trying to eat them.  And yes, she did wear this out that day.  What's wrong with John Deere and a tutu?

Trying to convince this child to wear pigtails.  Look, Dora has them too!  Didn't last!

Grandpa rode his motorcycle up to visit.  Fun times at Jane's Saddlebag.

We got lucky that they were having a car show.

This girl is full of life!

Jane's saddlebag is such a fun place to go!

Week 2

This coming week marks the 2nd week of knowingly ingesting toxins in order to slow down my RA.  In other words, my 2nd week on methotrexate.  So far, not too bad.  I've been taking my medicine on Friday night (6 pills all at one time) so that if I do get sick or have side effects, hopefully they wear off before Monday.  Both weekends of taking the medicine I've had nausea, tiredness, and just overall not feeling great.  Last week, I felt a good bit better by Monday, but had some really weird, intense moments of nausea throughout the week.  Most of the nausea moments came at the most inopportune times (like right in the middle of teaching my classes).  I guess the upside is that at least it was not accompanied by vommitting.  I'm not sure if the side effects will wear off as I continue taking the medicine over time or if it will increase or stay the same.  So much about RA is so unpredictable.  Apparently that is one of the most difficult things about the disease is that it is so different from person to person.  There are definitely up days and down days.  Most of last week was pretty good, but Friday hit pretty hard.  Lots of joints are affected on the down days, but the worst seems to be my hips.  The pain is intense and numbing and hard to get comfortable.  So the goal is to reduce the flares.  We'll see what this week brings.  I'm excited about the upcoming visit I'm taking (solo!) to visit my sister Elaine in Rhode Island.  It will be fun having some sister time (and Pat and SB too) and see a beautiful part of the country.

Also, my sweet friend Ashley took some great pictures at Jack's birthday party last weekend.  I'm going to attach the link since they are from shutterfly.  They turned out great!  Thanks again Ashley.  It was so fun to visit with family and friends and celebrate 5 years of Jack.  It is so hard to believe that our little guy is getting so big.  This time next year he'll be in kindergarten!  What a blessing he is though!
